What is soft tooling injection molding?

 

Soft tooling molds are typically made from materials such as silicone, carbon fiber, or fiberglass. Each mold cavity can generally produce 25 to 50 parts (or "shots") before significant wear occurs. Among these materials, silicone is one of the most commonly used, which is why this method is often referred to as silicone tooling. However, it's important to note that soft tooling molds can also be made from other materials depending on the application and performance requirements.
