PVC overmolding is a processing technology that involves coating a polyvinyl chloride film onto a substrate surface using a high-temperature, high-pressure process. It is widely used in building decoration, furniture manufacturing, and advertising displays. When selecting PVC, a comprehensive evaluation from multiple dimensions, including materials, processes, performance, and suppliers, is necessary.

 

During procurement, the following quantitative performance indicators should be given special attention based on the specific application scenario:

Environmental and Safety Rating: The product should comply with relevant environmental standards. Pay attention to its volatile organic compound (VOC) content and whether it has passed authoritative environmental certifications. The flame retardant rating must be clearly defined, for example, passing standard tests such as vertical burning, which is crucial for locations with high fire risk requirements.

 

Physical and Chemical Properties: Evaluate the product's weather resistance, including UV resistance (to prevent discoloration and chalking during outdoor use), heat distortion temperature (to ensure no deformation in high-temperature environments), and chemical corrosion resistance (suitable for special environments such as acids, alkalis, and salt spray).

 

Mechanical Properties and Durability: Examine the product's impact strength, compressive and flexural strength, and dimensional stability. Structural design, such as reinforcing ribs and snap-fit structures, directly affects the ease of installation and long-term reliability.
