PVC plastic molding refers to the process of processing polyvinyl chloride (PVC) resin into products of desired shapes using specific techniques. According to publicly available information, PVC is a thermoplastic, and its molding methods are diverse, mainly depending on the shape, size, performance requirements, and whether plasticizers are added (soft or rigid PVC).
The choice of plastic molding method primarily depends on the type of plastic (thermoplastic or thermosetting), its initial form, and the shape and size of the product. Common methods for processing thermoplastic plastics include extrusion, injection molding, calendering, blow molding, and thermoforming. For thermosetting plastics, compression molding, transfer molding, and injection molding are generally used. Lamination, compression molding, and thermoforming are methods for shaping plastics on a flat surface. All of the above plastic processing methods can also be used for rubber processing. In addition, there is casting using liquid monomers or polymers as raw materials. Among these methods, extrusion and injection molding are the most commonly used and are the most basic molding methods.
