Plastic injection molding is a highly efficient manufacturing process that injects molten plastic into a mold cavity under high pressure, followed by cooling and solidification to obtain the finished product. It is widely used in the automotive, electronics, home appliance, and medical industries.

 

The process involves mold closing, injection, pressure holding, cooling, mold opening, and product removal.

 

Repeating these steps allows for the batch and periodic production of products. The molding of thermosetting plastics and rubber involves similar processes, but the barrel temperature is lower than that of thermoplastics, while the injection pressure is higher. The mold is heated, and the material undergoes a curing or vulcanization process within the mold after injection, followed by hot demolding.

 

Current trends in processing technology are moving towards high-tech directions. These technologies include: micro-injection molding, high-filler composite injection molding, water-assisted injection molding, the combined use of various special injection molding processes, foam injection molding, mold technology, and simulation technology.
